Guardianship
Law
A guardian is a surrogate decision-maker
appointed by the court to make either
personal and/or financial decisions
for a minor or for an adult with
mental or physical disabilities.
After adjudication, the subject
of the guardianship is termed a
"ward."
Florida guardianship law has changed
dramatically several years ago with
the Florida Legislature's sweeping
reforms to F.S. Chapter 744. Further
statutory changes were accompanied
by a total overhaul of the rules
of procedure governing practice
in the guardianship arena.
Ourednik Law is qualified to consult
with clients on matters of guardianship
law.
